Let us begin with a photo that reminds me of fellow 1L blogger Dixiepuddle.

Dixiepuddle didn't do this... but it was based on her past exploits I'm sure. Thanks to The Chive for the Photo.
While school is becoming my jail from the weekends… There is good news ahead! LABOR DAY WEEKEND IS UPON US! You may remember my “Freedom Boner” post from July 4th. This would be another one of these moments. While it is true that unions gave us labor day… and unions displease me for the most part… I LOVE Labor Day all the same! The only thing I dislike is the fact that banks aren’t open or other such nonsense. Two words employers: Holiday Pay.
Guess who walked past my house yesterday… #VAGABONDVERN! Vern is alive! He seemed pretty ragged and I didn’t get to talk to him… but he is still around apparently. We will see if I can get a word with him soon. I’ll keep you posted.
Our air conditioning went out last night. It was nearly 90 degrees this afternoon inside our house before it was fixed.

Our hotness.
My fraternity house in undergrad had a sweet balcony. That fratio was the place where I did more studying, drinking and all around everything else in college. I turned my front porch into a similar setup this afternoon to try to beat the heat. It was only slightly effective. It did have me longing for home. I really hope those guys back at school are doing well.

My wannabe fratio.
I also know that I haven’t been posting the food that I am making. I have had a few emails from some concerned readers and have to admit… It is hard to make a new dish every night. I made the HOTTEST dish ever in the history of hot stuff tonight. It had 6 different kinds of peppers in it. I ate a bit… but we will see if I will have to add more rice and cook out some of the heat tomorrow.

Some of my cut-up peppers.
School is still crazy and I am going to write a post tomorrow on just the things that bother/make me happy most. I’m succeeding in keeping my head down and sticking around the 5-6 people that have become great friends. Watching out for some others at the same time. I think a few people would rather me be thrown off a bridge covered in honey and fire ants before class everyday. More tomorrow.

P.S. Thinking about spending Saturday morning getting my Nikon out. If this happens… watch out.
